French Surgeon, Francis Bernier, Gives Contemprary Proofs About Satgurus,1670.
In 1783, George Forester, mentions a name in his book " A Journey From Bengal To England".That name is Francois Bernier. Who is this Bernier?.Undoubtedly, he( Bernier) is the official Surgeon of Aurangzeb. He accompanied Auranzeb to Kashmir in 1665.(Ref. pp 4 of Auranzeb in Kashmir(Travels in The Mughal Empire), by Francois Bernier, published by Rima Publishing House, Delhi, 1988). Dr. Bernier published this book in French. but it was translated into English later on.The page No. 4 of this book confirms-----Like his forefathers, Aurangzeb visited Kashmir in 1665.He was accompanied by his daughter Raushnara. His retinue also included a French physician Francois Bernier, an employee of a Mughal noble Danishmand Khan." It was his hoby to keep political records.Another book gives a valuable reference about Francois Bernier. "Francois Bernier was a French Physician, whose favourite was political and speculative philosophy. In the early part of Auranzeb's reign he spent 12 years at that monarch's court, during which time he indulged his tastes, especially on the political side, to the full."( ref."European Travellers in India During the Fifteenth, Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries, by Farley Oaten). Therefore, the identity of Francois Bernier is confirmed now. He was the courtier of Aurangzeb. On the page. No. five of his French book, he gives the valuable information when he said------"His policy of persecution of Hindus of Kashmir, lead a team of Kashmiri Pandits to Sikh Guru Teg Bahadur at Anandpur Sahib. In his later editions of that book he confirmed that" The Sikhs under the Command of Guru Gobind Singh started religious war against the Mughal administration in the Punjab. Please note that Francois Bernier lived in this world upto 1688.This means his statement is fully correct. The Almighty Satguru Teg Bahadur sacrificed his life for the sake of Hindus.Sirdar Karam Singh Historian is fully right when he confirms that some Sikh History is scattered in Paris Libraries( ref. pp45 of "Itihasik Khoj, by Karam Singh Historian).
